Travel Alerts & Advisories

What is active right now — and how it expires

Check advisories before you travel.

How the alert banner works

The banner reads from a short list of advisories. For each one we set a valid-from and a valid-until date and a severity label. An advisory is displayed only when the current date is on or after its start and on or before its end. Notices without an end date stay visible until they are removed by hand. Because the window is checked every time the page loads, expired notices are never shown — there is no need to clear them manually, and a stale safety or closure notice will not linger.

The advisories below mirror what the banner is showing today. For the reasoning behind each one, see News & Notices.

Active advisories

Dress code in effect

Modest or traditional attire is required for darshan. The advisory has no end date and stays active until the policy changes. See the visitor guidelines for what to wear.

Severity: info · Valid from: 2025-07-07 · Valid until: open-ended. Please dress modestly out of respect for the shrine.

Monsoon caution

The steps can be slippery and the area sees heavy rain through the monsoon. Check local advisories before you travel and read our best time to visit guidance. This advisory expires automatically at the end of September 2026.

Severity: weather · Valid from: 2026-06-01 · Valid until: 2026-09-30. Re-check Pune district advisories close to your travel date.

Archived / expired notices

There is no archive to browse. When an advisory passes its end date it is dropped from the active list automatically and no longer appears in the banner or on this page. We don't keep expired safety or closure notices live, so you never act on an out-of-date warning. Where an official government order applies, we point you to the issuing authority for its full details.
